March Topical Blogging
I had such a blast doing the blogs in February. I hope you enjoyed them too! So, I decided to do another series in March.
This topic came about during a Warrior Writer when I happened to display my very detailed notes, which are all organized, or at least mostly. Sometimes it’s a chaotic organization – but I know where everything is! That’s the important part, right? So I want to talk about organization, and your story.
I’ve already blogged about Writing Tools, programs I’ve used or tried, so I’m skipping that layer and will jump into some of the more interesting ways I have done things. This will be a short, weekly series of blogs instead of bi-weekly like February was. For this process I’m going to be working mostly in the program OneNote, but I will touch on ways you could organize in yWriter and Scrivener as well.
Here’s what we’ll be discussing
- March 9th – The Story Binder, a gift from the writing goddess, Lynn Viehl
- March 16th – Organizing research.
- March 18th – File Structure.
- March 23rd – Customizing to fit your needs.
- March 25th – File Versions.
Do you have an organization method that works for you? Share!
Here are some linkage that pertain to being organized:
- LiftLift.com – an online novel organizer
- Suzan Isik did a post back during NaNoWriMo about novel organization – Organizing your NaNoWriMo Novel
- yWriter - free program with lots of organizational capability
- Scrivener - a still in development novel writing software. The beta is available. In time it will have a fully functional version for sale.
[Edit, as a supplement to talking about organizing your Novel Notebook, I'm going to add two blogs about file organization!]

Looking forward to this! I always love how organized you are.
And the funny thing is that I feel like I’m not organized at all!
My day will be made when they make Scrivener available for the iPad and Android.
Also, I agree with Alice even if yo don’t think you’re organized. Your OCD piques mine and I LOVE it!
You and your fancy smanchy iPad!
